With its industry-leading measurement speed, scalability, and best-in-class RF performance, the R&S ZNB3000, which was first released in February 2025, has already established a standard in the mid-range vector network analyzer market, reaffirms R&S in its official release.
An even greater range of applications will be covered by the R&S ZNB3000 with the arrival of new high-frequency variants.
During this year’s European Microwave Week (EuMW) in Utrecht, Rohde & Schwarz will show how engineers can get results more quickly with the new R&S ZNB3000, which can now operate at up to 54 GHz.
Rohde & Schwarz’s R&S ZNB3000 vector network analyzer, which combines speed and accuracy in a scalable platform, helps researchers and engineers in accelerating innovation in signal integrity testing and high-performance radio frequency applications.
With the R&S ZNB3000, Rohde & Schwarz expands the maximum frequencies to 32 GHz, 43.5 GHz, and 54 GHz, addressing even more applications.
These include next-generation RF component testing for satellite communications in the Ka band and V band, advanced high-speed interconnect testing for AI data centers, and RF component testing for 5G, 6G, and Wi-Fi applications.
Optimized For High-Speed Interconnect Testing for AI
In order to effectively manage enormous data loads, artificial intelligence (AI) applications in data centers require extremely quick, high-bandwidth interconnects.
Testing solutions that can function at frequencies up to 50 GHz are necessary for technologies like high-speed Ethernet (IEEE 802.3ck) in order to guarantee the best possible signal integrity.
The supported data rates will double to 128.0 GT/s with the upcoming PCIe 7.0, Peripheral Component Interconnect Express. Additionally, this needs to be tested at higher frequencies.
The R&S ZNB3000 is made to satisfy these specifications, providing precise characterization of high-speed PCBs, cables, and interconnects utilized in AI data center architecture. It can operate at frequencies up to 54 GHz.
Rohde & Schwarz gives the first public demonstration of the new 54 GHz model of the R&S ZNB3000 at EuMW 2025.
The configuration, which uses a PCIe cable as the device under test (DUT), demonstrates how to guarantee high-speed connection dependability for workloads driven by artificial intelligence.
Industry-Leading Performance and Flexibility
With a large dynamic range of up to 150 dB, high output power, and low trace noise of less than 0.0015 dB RMS, the R&S ZNB3000 family provides best-in-class RF performance.
Even at higher frequencies, these characteristics guarantee extremely precise and quick measurements.
The series’ distinguishing characteristics are still present in the current models, including:
- Ultra-fast measurement speed: Maximizes throughput and reduces the cost of testing.
• Low start frequency of 9 kHz: Enables precise time-domain analysis for signal integrity and high-speed testing.
• Flexible frequency upgrade concept: Customers can start with a base unit and expand the maximum frequency later by purchasing upgrade options, ensuring a targeted investment approach.
Expanding to New RF Applications
Advanced RF component testing for SatCom applications in the Ka and V bands, including filters, mixers, amplifiers, switches, and beamformers that function at these high frequencies, is also supported by the new high-frequency models.
Additionally, it makes it possible to test RF components for Wi-Fi, 5G, and 6G applications. Because of this, the R&S ZNB3000 is a great option for both production settings and research labs developing cutting-edge technology.
By the end of 2025, Rohde & Schwarz will make the new frequencies—32 GHz, 43.5 GHz, and 54 GHz—of the R&S ZNB3000 available. From September 23 to 25, 2025, attendees of EuMW 2025 can witness the 54 GHz instrument in action at exhibit A026 at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
