NVIDIA Omniverse application programming interfaces (APIs) are being utilized by Ansys. By integrating Ansys’ multiphysics simulation capabilities with the NVIDIA Omniverse platform is stated to “supercharge” the design of 3D integrated circuits (3D ICs).
The NVIDIA Omniverse platform, a vast collection of APIs for creating 3D workflows and apps with OpenUSD and NVIDIA RTX support, is being utilized by Ansys.
With the help of this integration, 3D ICs designers should be able to take use of Ansys’ solvers, including Ansys HFSS, Ansys Icepak, and Ansys RedHawk-SC, to see and work with 3D models in real-time and evaluate important characteristics like temperature variations and electromagnetic fields.
By enabling designers to optimize their chip designs, these better diagnostic and visualization tools will increase data rates and improve functionality and dependability.
NVIDIA is a well-known innovator in the field of visual computing technology, having been responsible for creating the GPU (graphic processing unit). The company’s focus has shifted over time from PC graphics to AI-based solutions that enable gaming, virtual reality, and high-performance computer platforms.
Defining 3D ICs, or Multi-Die Chips
Multi-die chips, also known as 3D-ICs, are small semiconductor chips that are built vertically and offer more performance without using more power.
But the intricacy of 3D-ICs has also brought up new design difficulties, such as heat management, stress analysis, and electromagnetic problems.
Ansys’ RedHawk-SC solution is also accelerated by NVIDIA Grace CPU Superchips and is likely to deliver “performant” multiphysics designs.
ANSYS at Design Automation Conference
Ansys will showcase the 3D ICs multiphysics visualization with NVIDIA Omniverse at the Design Automation Conference, happening from Jun 23-27 in San Francisco.
Other News of ANSYS in 2024
Ansys and NVIDIA joined forces in March 2024 to further the development of simulation solutions driven by cutting edge technologies including computing and generative artificial intelligence.
In January 2024, Ansys and Synopsys inked a definitive agreement, paving the way for the latter to acquire Ansys at approximately $35 billion. In May 2024, Ansys announced the approval of its shareholders on the proposed buyout by Synopsys.
Per the agreement, Ansys shareholders will receive $197 in cash along with 0.3450 shares of Synopsys common stock for each Ansys share.
