The annual holiday competition, Hack the Holidays from element14 Community has begun, and participants are encouraged to design electronics projects that are inspired by the holidays and their personal significance. By submitting a write-up explaining how they developed their idea and showcasing how it works, participants can compete for prizes.

element14 Community is highlighting its carefully chosen winter wishlists for engineers and students this holiday season. Hands-on projects, kits, and resources to enhance learning and practical tasks are included in the STEM-inspired gift guide.
A musical, motion-activated wreath, an interactive mini Zen garden, and an electronic elf are among examples from the previous year’s competition.

This competition gives our members the chance to share what the season means to them while showcasing their engineering skills in fun and innovative ways.”
To enter for Annual holiday competition, participants must submit their project write-up on the element14 Community by 11 January 2026. Projects can be gifts, decorations or party accessories, as long as they include electronic components and reflect what the holidays mean to them.
