Anglia Components established ADIOS Electronics Ltd. as a new limited company to facilitate consumer choice. However, ADIOS will maintain inventories on popular items, in contrast to a standard broker approach where parts are sourced based on customer requirements.
By deliberately combining the agility and reach of a broker with the reliability of traditional distribution—such as strong inventory management, quality control, and high service levels—ADIOS develops a new distribution model.
In addition, ADIOS makes it possible to source more quickly and at incredibly competitive prices across international markets by opening up access to a larger supplier base without the limitations of franchised lines.
By fusing these advantages, ADIOS hopes to validate the conventional broker model and provide a strong value proposition: the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of a broker combined with the assurance and professionalism of a distributor.
In addition to being AS9120 approved, ADIOS is introducing semiconductors from major manufacturers like Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), Maxim, and Linear Technology.
Leadership Comments
Comments John Bowman, Marketing Director: “There is a trend among certain large semiconductor manufacturers to reduce their distribution network. This, of course, reduces their operating costs and increases their profitability, whilst giving them an unhealthy leverage and restricting customer choice. … For over fifty years, Anglia has been guided by customer demand; the ADIOS investment over the last 12 months comes as a response to a real need from our customers.
Concludes Bowman: “We are taking a stand against suppliers that operate restrictive sales channels. We are firmly committed to giving customers the choice of where to buy semiconductors, and we believe that with the creation of ADIOS, completely separate from Anglia, we will be able to deliver on our promise to give customers what they need.”
