Infineon Technologies introduces the new CoolGaN Transistor 700 V G4 product family. The devices are highly efficient for power conversion in the voltage range up to 700 V.
In contrast to other GaN products on the market, the input and output figures-of-merit of these transistors provide a 20 percent better performance, resulting in increased efficiency, reduced power losses, and more cost-effective solutions.
The combination of electrical characteristics and packaging ensures maximum performance in many applications such as consumer chargers and notebook adapters, data center power supplies, renewable energy inverters, and battery storage.
Thirteen devices with an on-resistance range of 20 m? to 315 m? and a voltage rating of 700 V make up the CoolGaN Transistor 700 V G4 product line.
The ability to choose RDS resistance and packaging according on application needs is made possible by the enhanced granularity of device specifications and the abundance of industry standard package alternatives, such as PDFN, TOLL, and TOLT.
Consequently, the most economical method may be employed to maximize the performance of the electrical and thermal systems.
The devices are distinguished by their quick on and off times and low switching losses. Power systems from 20 W to 25,000 W are made possible by the on-resistance range.
Furthermore, the 700 V E-mode, which has the highest transient voltage of 850 V in the market, boosts the overall system dependability by providing increased resilience against abnormalities in the user environment, including voltage peaks.
Availability
The CoolGaN Transistor 700 V G4 products in TOLL, PDFN 5×6 and 8×8 packages are available now, more variety in RDS(on) as well as the TOLT package will follow later this year.
