With the introduction of the new 9159-800 Series dual-entry card-edge connectors, the lowest-profile card-edge connectors in the KYOCERA AVX portfolio and the first dual-entry card-edge connectors in the industry, the company increased the size of its vertical card-edge connector line.
With a unique, compact form factor and 4–20 of the company’s field-proven, high-strength beryllium copper compression contacts arranged in two rows with a tight 1mm pitch, the new 9159-800 Series dual-entry card-edge connectors are designed to meet the growing cross-market demand for card-edge connectors as well as the ongoing cross-market demand for compact, space-saving connectors.
The gold-plated compression contacts in the series have an excellent current-carrying capability for their size, up to 2A per contact, and allow for simple solderless installation. Additionally, they have minimal contact resistance and provide highly reliable mechanical and electrical performance, making them perfect for usage in challenging conditions.
The series’ distinctive design also accommodates bottom-entry and top-entry mating configurations for wide application compatibility and recessed through-board mounting for the lowest above-board height profile in the market, measuring only 3.5mm.

The New 9159-800 Series Dual-Entry Card-Edge Connectors Feature:
- 4–20 high-strength gold- and tin-over-nickel-plated beryllium copper compression contacts rated for up to 2A per contact and 50-cycle durability, as well as white, glass-filled, high-temperature, flame retardant (UL94 V-0), and halogen-free insulators with stop shoulders to guarantee correct pad positioning.
- They are intended to mate with 1.6mm-thick PCBs with gold-plated pads, as long as they are not metal core PCBs, and are rated for up to 150VACRMS or the DC equivalent.
- They can operate at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +125°C. Additionally, they come in tape and reel packaging for automated processing and are UL and RoHS compliant.
